Before Reading Trails To Azure, Check Out This Fan-Translated Bridge Drama CD Set After Zero

So, I learned something new today. The Trails The series is known for having additional material, such as drama CDs. However, apart from the official translations of Paths of Cold Steel I and IIit never occurred to me to investigate them further.

However, I recently came across one which is quite significant, as it takes place between zero trails and Trails to Azure, acting as a bridge between the two games. In Trails to Azureyou are gradually informed about some off-screen developments after the events of zero trailsso you don’t see them happening firsthand.

As a result, this drama CD is arguably a must-have experience for fans before diving into the sequel. Of course, you don’t have to read/listen to the drama CD before playing Azure; you will understand the events of the title very well. Yet the broader context it provides will definitely help with accreditation.

This drama CD, titled “Road to the Future”, was packaged in limited editions sold throughout Japan, and fans translated it entirely. It is hosted by Geofront, the team behind the zero trails and Trails to Azure fan translations acquired by publisher NIS America.

The following specific people are credited with translating the “Road to the Future” drama CD:

  • LeonPolaris
  • DIY
  • Raienryu no Natsu
  • Coming soon
  • Catasplurge
  • Shawn Cox
  • SlyGamer64

Thanks to Falcom Community Member Hansuke for letting me know about this project without knowing it.

Additionally, a video form of “Road to the Future” can be seen below, with the actual audio implemented. It lasts about an hour, so relax, grab a snack, and enjoy.
