Since the game’s release, the modders have done an amazing job with Cyberpunk 2077 – CD Projekt Red even ended up hiring some of them to help with development. This week one of the game’s most impressive mods has been released, adding a fully functional subway system.
Around the time of the release of the first proper Cyberpunk 2077 trailer, we got a good look at Night City’s own train system that ran around town and V using it. It didn’t end up making it into the final game as playable content, but a modder has now fixed this for all PC gamers.
New Metro System mod released on Nexusmods, adding a fully usable metro system, 19 explorable stations, and support for third and first person views. The Metro system also has its own native user interface and is compatible with controllers, as well as keyboard and mouse commands.
Best of all, there are no loading screens or game maps, so everything works in the open world in real time, giving V convenient access to new, fast travel points in Night City. Since driving in Night City can be a pain at times, using the metro to get around seems like a great alternative.
Currently, CD Projekt Red is working on its next major update for Cyberpunk 2077, which is slated for release in Q1 2022, alongside the Xbox Series X / S and PS5 versions of the game. Not much is officially known about the new ones. systems or mechanical changes, but data mining efforts suggest that we will see significant changes in the game’s RPG systems.
