Holiday Treasure Trove opens in Ayer this Saturday – Lowell Sun

AYER – The Friends of Ayer’s Library and Ayer’s Cultural Council are hosting a special “Holiday Treasure” event from noon to 5 pm on Saturdays at Ayer’s Town Hall on Main Street.

The event is an opportunity to sample family-friendly treats and stroll the aisles of Christmas gifts and stockings, made by many local artisans.

Some of the planned vendors include: Board + Beauty, Cathy’s Succulent Dish Gardens, Falltown Furniture & Woodworks, Four Seasons Designs, Friends by Design, Hearts for Paws, James Spinelli Jewelry, Jennifer’s Handmade Soap, Maryanne’s Beads and Bling, Bright Eyes Pet Portraits, Clay Rapt Art, PeachLab Mini Boutique, Rylie Doo’s, Seatonesque Creations, Signs & Snippets, Monkey Confectionery, Triple Rescue Plan, Tastefully Simple and Windsong Craft Studio.

Buyers can browse the Friends of the Ayer library’s books, CDs and DVDs sale. There will be new and unreleased titles for all ages in all categories to browse and buy. Ayer’s Cultural Council will also be on hand to sell the community’s favorite “Ayer’s Calendars”, featuring beautiful local photographs and information from Ayer’s residents to flip through monthly.

In addition to shopping, ArtsNashoba will host children’s crafts and every half hour and guest readers will read stories.

Ayer-Shirley Regional School District Superintendent Adam Renda, State Sen. Jamie Eldridge, Fire Chief Tim Johnson, Library Board of Trustees President Sharon Slarsky, Police Chief Brian Gill, State Rep. Sheila Harrington, Ayer Library Director Tim Silva and author J. Anthony Garreffi are all among the featured readers.

Organizers are asking guests to consider bringing a broken, used, or previously played toy with for recycling. Terracycle-Hasboro is committed to giving beloved toys and games a second life by recycling them, promising to help Santa, his elves and the planet.

For those feeling lucky, there will also be a plethora of raffle items to compete for. All items were donated by town businesses and friends, including Mrs. Cooper’s Cookies, Buffalo Wild Wings, and Ayer Auto Parts. A plethora of gift cards for local restaurants and bonus prizes are also up for grabs. There will even be a complete autographed set from Garreffi’s “Santa” series.

Raffle tickets will cost $ 1 each; or six for $ 5.
