Revolution II defender Colby Quiñones called up to Puerto Rico men’s national team

Revolution II defender Colby Quiñones has been called up to the Puerto Rico men’s national team for his first two Concacaf Nations League games. This is the Puerto Rico senior men’s team’s third call-up for the Revolution Academy product. Quiñones, still looking for his first senior cap, has already played twice for Puerto Rico’s U-20 national team.

Quiñones, 19, signed a professional contract with Revolution II on November 30, 2020 and became the first active Revolution Academy player to play in a professional game. He has since played 40 games with the New England second team, recording 24 starts and over 2,200 minutes played.

The Bedford, NH native, whose Puerto Rican heritage extends to the paternal side of the family, joined Revolution Academy before the 2017-18 season and made more than 65 appearances in the youth ranks. He scored four goals while playing in various positions, including midfield and full-back. Additionally, Quiñones was one of the first four members of Revolution Academy’s residency program which began in 2019.
