Saelig Company now offers the Euroquarz 18EQHM32 series of oscillators which can reduce overall EMI problems in electronic equipment by subtly changing the center frequency of the system clock oscillator and spreading EMI problems over a wider bandwidth. The new series is intended to replace standard clock oscillators and is intended for circuit boards that may have failed compliance tests by exceeding EMI thresholds. Replacing the master clock component with an 18EQHM32 oscillator can instantly reduce system EMI by 12dB (typical) and avoid the cost of redesigning an existing PCB. The reduction of the EMI threshold is achieved using Spread Spectrum technology, whereby the emitted energy is subtly modulated over a wider bandwidth. A center frequency modulation of a few kilohertz can be applied below, centered or above the nominal frequency.
These oscillators provide superior jitter performance with Â± 100 ps cycle-to-cycle jitter compared to many standard oscillators. Contained in a standard 3.2mm x 2.5mm x 1mm surface mount box, the oscillators replace the form / fit / function of standard 1.8V oscillators, allowing engineers to improve instantly EMI performance. Other voltage versions are also provided.
Oscillator specifications include 12.5 MHz to 42 MHz frequency range, selection of spreading types, center frequency modulation of up to 2%, and resulting EMI improvement of up to -18 dB depending on type. spreading. Frequency stability characteristics are as low as Â± 25 ppm in commercial (0C to 70C) and industrial (-40C to + 85C) temperature ranges.
The oscillators in the series are RoHS compliant and are excellent for a wide range of non-critical applications including PDAs, MFPs, digital copiers, networking, LAN / WAN storage, computer storage systems (CD -ROM, VCD, DVD, HDD), scanners, projectors, modems, on-board systems, medical equipment, automotive electronics, car GPS navigation systems, LCD monitors and televisions, and digital cameras.
