The pantry is hosted by Pastor Charles Silano and Grace Community Food Pantry, a disaster relief agency in Flagler County. Feeding Northeast Florida helps local children and families, seniors, and active and retired military members who struggle to put food on the table. Working with local grocery stores, manufacturers and farms, we take high-quality food that would normally go to waste and turn it into meals for those in need. The Flagler County School District provides space for much of the pantry storage and operations. Call 386-586-2653 to help, volunteer or donate.

Notably : Today is Carver Day, commemorating the life of George Washington Carver – after whom the Carver Center is named Bunnell. From Tuskegee University: “Dr. Carver took a holistic approach to knowing, which embraced faith and research in a unified quest for truth. Carver also believed that engagement with a larger reality was necessary if science and technology were to serve human needs rather than the egos of the powerful. His belief in service was a direct result and expression of his marriage of pursuit and commitment. One of his favorite sayings was: “It’s not the style of clothes you wear, or the type of car you drive, or the amount of money you have in the bank, that matters. It’s simply service that measures success.Today is also the anniversary of the ratification of the 14th Amendment, which the Supreme Court has applied for decades more to protect businesses than to protect individuals.

Now this: Happy birthday Ottorino Respighi.
