Someone completed Elden Ring in two and a half hours without leveling up or taking a single hit.
Unlike some no-hit runners who typically run through the game quickly avoiding bosses and entire areas, Streamer Ainrun – who is admittedly an expert at finishing From Software games without getting hit – finished his run without a hit. and took on the Grafted Scion, the first boss battle that usually requires you to jump off a cliff and die to continue.
“I’ve been doing unsuccessful runs and quick runs of From Software games since 2020, starting with Dark Souls 1,” Ainrun said. Kotaku.
“Personally, I feel [skipping the Grafted Scion] breaks a streak the devs intended to follow to progress through the game, so I opt for combat.
“I spent a lot of time training, looking for openings to exploit,” he added. “I was also motivated by the fact that a majority of other players choose to skip this boss. In my opinion, a ‘challenge’ run like what I did is supposed to be difficult, [so] using shortcuts doesn’t really make sense.”
Ainrun pulled off the feat by focusing on a build that staggers the enemy so they can keep their distance when active and unleash damage when staggered and downed.
Elden Ring is the best-selling game of 2022. According to research firm NPD Group, From Software’s action-RPG “ranked No. 1 in dollar sales in four of its first five months on the market”, is the best-selling game of June 2022, and remains “the best-selling game of 2022 so far”.
Earlier this week, Elden Ring publisher Bandai Namco confirmed that it had been targeted by hackers and admitted that confidential information had been viewed on its servers. There is “a possibility” that this includes customer information, the publisher acknowledged in a statement sent to Eurogamer.
